Too hot to garden in Texas in the summer? Not if you grow microgreens! Join us for our featured speaker, Dr. Warren Wilson. Warren has been an active citizen of Euless since he moved here with his family in 1962. His current occupation for 20 years has been as an Animal Chiropractor, and he is also an instructor at Parker University in Dallas.
He has always been in farming but living in the city, he got involved in indoor Aquaponics for about 7 years. Needing more space, he switched from Aquaponics to Hydroponics, which he describes as “a complete disaster”. He said, “my patience was wearing thin, so a suggestion was given to me to grow microgreens. After doing a lot of research on the topic I decided to start growing them. I have been growing microgreens for about 4 years and have turned it into a business. “
Gourmet Greens was formed and he has sold microgreens to numerous Farmers Markets and currently has his product in The Sunflower Shoppe in Colleyville. He also provides microgreens to the Hurst-Euless- Bedford Independent School District Culinary School.
Come learn how to keep your thumb green even when it's scorching hot outside!
The Euless Garden Club meets every 3rd Saturday of the month. Free & open to the public!
